SYNTEC signs an agreement on spontaneous termination of pregnancy

The SYNTEC branch has signed innovative agreements to meet the expectations of companies and employees. We will develop here the agreement on spontaneous termination of pregnancy.

The partners to the negotiation of the branch (employers and employees’ representatives), aware that in France, 1 in 4 pregnancies is spontaneously terminated in the first 22 weeks of amenorrhea and that 1 in 10 women is therefore at risk of a spontaneous termination of pregnancy, have decided to introduce an exceptional paid leave of absence of 2 days in the event of a spontaneous termination of pregnancy before 22 weeks of amenorrhoea, subject to presentation of a medical certificate within 15 days following the event.

This paid absence benefits:

  • to the employee who lost a child before 22 weeks of amenorrhea.
  • as well as the mother's spouse or the person linked to her by a civil solidarity pact or living in a marital relationship with her, provided that they also belong to the SYNTEC branch.

This benefit came into force on 12 December 2022, for companies that are members of an employers' organisation that has signed the agreement and is applicable to all companies in the branch from May 1st, 2023.

=> It might be worth passing on this information to your employees so that they can take advantage of this measure if they are unfortunately ever faced with such an event.
